Yes. We travel to your home, office, hospital room, or anywhere else in Boulder County. Most of our service area comes in at the $50 travel base, and longer distances carry a higher rate. What areas do you serve?
We cover Boulder and the surrounding towns: Longmont, Broomfield, Louisville, Lafayette, Erie, Superior, Arvada, and Westminster. If you're just outside that list, text us and we'll let you know whether we can reach you. We don't publish a mileage chart, because the right number depends on your specific address. What do I need to bring to my appointment?
Bring your unexpired, government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license, state ID, or passport. Colorado law requires us to verify your identity before we can notarize anything, and we can't proceed without acceptable ID. Have your document ready but unsigned. If it names witnesses, they need to be present too, each with their own unexpired photo ID.
Should I sign the document before you arrive?
No. Please wait until we're there to sign. Signing early is the single most common reason an appointment has to be rescheduled, since we can only notarize a signature made in our presence or personally acknowledged to us at that time. If you're not sure whether a section needs your signature or a witness's, leave it blank and we'll sort it out together when we arrive.
What does it cost?
We charge $15 per document, however many signatures and signers it involves. Travel is separate: most of our service area comes in at the $50 base, and longer distances carry a higher rate. We put the full total in writing and get your approval before anyone drives, so there are no surprises when we arrive. One document close to home typically comes to $65. There's no extra charge for evenings, weekends, or same-day requests.
Do I need a witness?
Some documents require one or two witnesses in addition to us; others don't. We can tell you what your specific document requires, but we can't tell you which document to use or draft one for you, since that crosses into legal advice, which notaries aren't allowed to give. We also can't serve as your witness, since we're the notarizing official. If you need witnesses, have them present with photo ID.
What is a mobile notary? What is a travel notary?
A mobile, or travel, notary is a commissioned notary public who comes to you instead of you going to a bank or shipping store. We're Aaron and Mindy Lerch, both commissioned by the Colorado Secretary of State since 2023, and we bring the same seal, journal, and authority as any notary office to your home, workplace, hospital room, or wherever is easiest. The notarial act itself is identical to what you'd get at a counter; the difference is that we do the driving.
What is a jurat?
A jurat is a notarial act where you swear or affirm that the contents of a document are true, and you must sign it in our presence. It's common on affidavits and sworn statements. That's different from an acknowledgment, where you're confirming that you signed the document and that the signature is yours. We'll ask which one your document needs before we get started.
Can you notarize a will?
We can notarize signatures on many estate documents, including affidavits and certain will-related paperwork, but we can't tell you whether your will is valid, what it should say, or whether it needs formalities beyond notarization, such as additional witnesses. That's a question for an attorney. If your document specifies its own signing requirements, we'll follow them exactly when we meet, including at a hospital bedside if that's where you need us.
Can you certify copies of documents?
For some documents, yes. We can certify that a copy matches the original you show us. What we can't do is certify copies of vital records like birth, death, or marriage certificates; those have to come directly from the issuing government agency, not a notary. If you're not sure whether your document qualifies, text us a description and we'll let you know.
Can you notarize a document for use in another state?
Yes. A Colorado notarial act is valid anywhere in the United States, so we can notarize documents headed to another state, county, or out-of-state title company. Let us know where the document is going if it has special requirements, like specific notarial certificate wording, so we can make sure everything matches what the receiving party expects before your appointment.
Do you offer same-day, emergency, or 24-hour notary service?
We're generally available 8am to 8pm, seven days a week, including evenings and weekends, and same-day appointments are usually possible if you text ahead. Those are our preferred hours rather than a hard cutoff; if something urgent falls outside that window, ask anyway. There's no rush fee. What can't a notary do?
We can't give legal advice, tell you which document to use, draft documents for you, or notarize anything for someone who isn't physically present. We don't offer loan signings, apostille service, or remote online notarization yet. If you need help figuring out which document you need, an attorney is the right resource; once you know, we can handle the notarization.
Can you print documents for me?
Yes, with advance notice. Send us the file by email or text before the appointment and we'll bring it printed, at $0.50 per page up to 100 pages, added to your total. We can't print at the appointment itself, so it has to be arranged before we leave. Let us know how many copies you need.
How do I book an appointment?

We're two people rather than a call center, so we answer as soon as we're free. Same-day appointments are usually possible, and if your timing is tight, say so in the first message.
